Mogadishu - October 14th, 2014; The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, Ambassador Maman Sidikou has welcomed the agreement which was signed between the Federal Government and the Puntland State, in Garowe.
“This significant agreement allows the Federal Government of Somalia and the Puntland State to jointly build on security gains by resuming relations, reviewing and implementing the Provisional Federal Constitution and holding democratic elections in 2016. This agreement could also serve as a blueprint for resolving differences in other Somali regions so that all efforts can be focused on providing peace and prosperity for all Somalis.”
The agreement was signed by Prime Minister of the Federal government of Somalia, H.E. Abdiwali Sheikh Ahmed and Puntland President, H.E.Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gaas.
