comments Addis Ababa, 26 December 2012: Following the approval, by referendum, of a new Constitution for Egypt, the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, calls on all the Egyptian stakeholders to engage in a constructive dialogue, with the required spirit of mutual respect and tolerance, to overcome the divisions that arose in the course of the elaboration of the Constitution and strengthen the democratic process in their country.
The Chairperson of the Commission stresses the importance of a constructive dialogue among the Egyptian stakeholders to successfully organize the planned legislative elections, in order to complete the transition ushered in following the 2011 Revolution, and address the socio-economic challenges facing the country.
